Paolo Vavassori, IKERBASQUE Professor and co-leader of the Nanomagnetism group of the CIC NanoGUNE, has become advisory board member of the International Conference on Advanced Plasmonics, Magnetics, and Magneto-optical Technologies (ICAPMOT) series for the years 2020 through 2025.

This conference series will provide insights to new technology and will feature some of the most ground-breaking research presented by experts in the field and it also serves as a  platform for youth involvement.

This conference is registered in Canada where our team is primarily based, however we also have a local presence in Nepal. The main purpose of the scientific advisory board member is to provide guidance about the direction the conference should follow.

Specific tasks for this year include:

  • Successfully organising the conference
  • Revamping and updating the conference's online presence by creating and implementing a social media plan
  • Finding the best way to present the most important information
  • Spread the word about the conference online and by word of mouth
  • Recommend/nominate potential speakers
  • Choosing engaging and relevant topics, as well as proposing changes

The first forthcoming conference will be held in Nepal, May 24-28 2021.
